The Objectives
of the
Fort Screven
Preservation Organization Are:
To Acquire, Preserve and Restore historically significant structures on Tybee Island, Georgia, concentrating on
Fort Screven Gun Batteries
, fortifications, and related structures that were constructed prior to 1920, with the final disposition of the properties to be granted to a governmental entity such as the
National Park Service
or the
City of Tybee Island
or another non-profit organization such as the
Tybee Island Historical Society
, so that these properties will be continually preserved and maintained for historical interpretation in perpetuity.
Hopefully, we will be able to Completely Restore these gun batteries with period representative Artillery or replica guns with
ADA
accessible walkways and ramps so that everyone can enjoy exploring these unique and irreplacable structures.
